Scale up your OCR to meet demand
Prime Vision is the only OCR developer in the world to be focused on the parcels, flats and letters market. Since its first ParcelVision installation in 2004 Prime Vision has expanded its installed network to more than 45 sorting centres for postal and parcel organisations globally. The primary task of ParcelVision is to combine traditional automated identification technology with OCR techniques to ‘read’ printed and hand-written addresses and information on the parcel. ParcelVision also integrates a very powerful video-coding system that allows parcels to remain on the sorter, eliminating further manual handling, relabelling, etc.
ParcelVision is a centralised management platform that supports an ever increasing range of modular solutions, including hardware to capture parcel images, weight and dimensions, decode the 1D and 2D bar codes, read any text or addresses (OCR), video-coding, archiving, process monitoring, and many more.
The latest version of this product is also web-enabled. This is a customer driven development that has evolved as a result of successful, individual ParcelVision installations being replicated at other sites within the same company. Prime Vision has harnessed this collective resource and used the internet to provide ‘anytime, anywhere’ availability via the security of a closed business network.
The benefits of this are manifold. It allows resources and information to be better utilised and the effective management of fluctuations in throughput.
