What does winning this award mean to Crisplant?
We are extremely honoured to receive this award, especially as it was our customers who nominated and chose us as the first Supplier of the Year – that is fantastic for us.
Were you surprised to receive the award?
To some extent we are surprised but you always hope that your customers will choose you. We believe that we do a good job and that we supply customers with the solutions that are ideal for their business.

Why do you think Crisplant came out on top?
It shows that we must be on the right track with our new developments – the LS4000 sorter. We made the right choice when we developed that technology and I think that is one of the reasons behind winning this award. It also shows us that we are on the right track with regards to how we support our customers and how we secure projects for them.
Crisplant has won quite a few contracts over the past year for the new energy-efficient sortation system. What customer feedback have you received from them so far?
TNT explained that it is actually part of their Planet Me strategy, and by choosing our solution, they got the best of both worlds. They got a very efficient system with a high capacity, and also a very green solution. This shows that it is really important to focus on these environmental issues.

Can you outline the main environmental benefits of this sortation system?
Users see considerable energy savings, which is good for the environment and also saves costs. There is also a reduction of CO2 emissions and noise levels. In addition, the system boasts increased handling flexibility.
Why was the decision made to develop a system like this?
When we started developing the new generation of sortation solutions, we were very focused on developing a more efficient system. We went through the whole system and when we came to the motor, we made a choice about using this new LSM technology. We realised that this would make an energy-efficient green sorter. And then within that process we also got input from the market that there was an increasing demand, not only from our clients, but also in the market in general, for greener technology. It made sense to work with the LSM technology and implement it into the sortation system.
Market conditions are pretty tough at the moment. Why do you think Crisplant is continuing to do so well?
First of all, we have some very good people that do an excellent job supporting our customers. And I also think we have the right solutions. With the LS4000 we have a wider and deeper product portfolio for sortation.
What does the future hold for Crisplant?
We have some new products in the pipeline, but that is all I can say for the time being. However, there is definitely more to come from Crisplant. We are trying to be a technology leader within sortation, so we are always trying to develop our technology, and we are working on introducing a new generation.
